The Tehran City Theater Or Teatr-e Shahr in Farsi (opened ca. 1972) is a performing arts complex and now one of the Tehran Tourist Attraction. Architect Ali Sardar Afkhami designed the main building in the 1960’s, later expanded.
The Tehran City Theater complex contains several performance spaces including Chaharsou Hall, Qashqai Hall, Sayeh Hall, and the Main Hall. Since 1979 the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has overseen its operation.
